北欧部はスタートアップバスエストニアに協力しています。
エストニアの首都タリンからドイツのケルンまでのハッカソンの旅をご紹介します。

スタートアップバスとは？
新たなビジネスのアイデアは非日常から生まれます。非日常とは環境であったり、普段は全く接点がないような人々との会話の中の一言だたりします。スタートアップバスでは、多くの非日常を盛り込んでいます。
3日間のバス旅は、旅の始まりから終わりまでずっとハッカソンです。そのバスに乗っているのは、「Buspreneur」と呼ばれる様々な分野のエキスパート40人。一つのバスに乗り、3日間かけて目的地にたどり着く間にハッカソンを行ってスタートアップのアイデアを出していきます。グループの参加は認められていないので、出会ったばかりの「Buspreneur」同志がゼロからアイデアを出し合い、形にしていきます。
スタートアップバスの始まり
毎年、アメリカ・オースティンにてSXSW Conference （サウスバイサウスウェスト）という大規模なイベントが開催されています。1987年に始まったときは、音楽祭でしたが徐々に他分野へと拡大し、1998年からはインタラクティビティフェスティバルを同時開催することとなりました。
2010年、この同イベントにサンフランシスコから3日かけて向かう一台のバスがありました。3日あるんだから、バスに乗っている人でハッカソンをやってしまおう！という一言のジョークから本当にハッカソンが始まってしまい、オースティンについたときには６つのスタートアップのアイデアができていました。これを機に2011年からITのスタートアップコンペティションとして正式にスタートしたのがスタートアップバスの始まりです。

エストニアは昨年から参加しています。昨年のコースはエストニアの首都タリンからオーストリアのウィーンまで。11か国から参加した「Buspreneur」40人で構成されていました。
車内でグループワーク
今年のプログラム
・8月30日にエストニアの首都タリンを出発、9月1日にドイツケルンに到着します。
・バスは1台、募集人員は40名です。申請を受けた後、スカイプ面接を行いメンバーを決定していきます。
・IT分野が中心ですが、様々な分野のトップタレントが集中的なハッカソンを繰り広げるというものです。他分野であっても積極的に手を挙げてください。
・通過点となる町々では、様々なスタートアップコミュニティの人々との交流があります。
・夜は、ホステルで宿泊です（数人相部屋のドーミトリー）。バスは24時間使えるので、バスの中で寝ても構いません。
・ケルンに到着すると、同時に他の8か国を出発したスタートアップバスもケルンに集結します。そこで別のスタートアップイベントであるPiratesummitが9月2日・3日と開催されます。本来なら、Invitation Onlyのイベントですが、スタートアップバス参加者は本イベントにも参加できます（オプショナル）。Pirate Summitのオフィシャルサイトはこちら
・帰りはドイツから帰っても構いません。また、タリンまで戻るバスは無料で乗車できます（オプショナル）。
費用（暫定）
・スタートアップバス 200ユーロ （3日間の参加費）
・宿泊代 約60ユーロ （2泊）
・Piratesummit 60ユーロ （通常225ユーロ）
・そのほか食費など雑費 各自
・日本からタリンまでの各自負担です。日本からヘルシンキへの航空券は往復8万～16万円くらい、ヘルシンキからタリンへはフェリーで2時間、費用は片道3000円～6000円くらいです。

Europe 2012
StartupBus Europe 2012 Finalist was awarded to Haystack from Germany. Haystack is a dating application turning friends into match-makers by utilizing social media.
Americas 2013
CareerMob won StartupBus Americas 2013. CareerMob is an online platform that enables job-seeking military veterans to search for jobs.
Europe 2013
StartupBus Europe 2013’s winner was Aiden, a mood-tracking mobile application which detect possible depression of an individual.
Africa 2013
StartupBus Africa 2013’s winner was Workforce, a mobile-powered planning application connection employees and employers to simplify workforce planning in construction sites. The platform links unskilled worker teams with potential employers through an SMS-based communication system. Runner-ups to StartupBus Africa 2013 were Funeral.ly, a funeral management application, and Bribed, an application to tackle bribery issues across Africa
North America 2014
StartupBus North America 2014’s winner was presented to Smart Host, a Website that provides market intelligence and pricing for vacation rental managers. Runner up, Bridgefy, created a messaging app that works without Internet or SMS.
Pacific 2014
People of the Sun, a solar startup, was announced the winner of StartupBus Pacific 2014.[18]
Europe 2014
Zumo, an on-demand engagement using WebRTC, was announced the winner of StartupBus Europe 2014.
